Myths

Myth: Laal dant manjan powder is better than toothpaste

The red tin has history on its side. Your enamel, unfortunately, doesn't care about history.

Why people believe it

Laal dant manjan is tradition: handed down, trusted, and satisfyingly gritty. That gritty feeling reads as “deep clean”, and herbal ingredients sound gentler than chemicals.

The truth

Toothpaste is specifically designed for oral health, and its effectiveness varies by brand and type. Fluoride toothpaste in particular strengthens enamel against decay, something abrasive powders don't do. Coarse powders can also wear enamel over time.

What to do instead

Choose a fluoride toothpaste and keep the tradition where it belongs: in the story, not the mouth. Ask your dentist which paste suits your teeth.
